These infrared panels are designed for ceiling mounted fitting; however, they can also be used as a wall mounted solution if desired. Please note that due to their lower wattages, their ‘heats up to’ areas will be reduced when used as a wall heater.
The 270w panel can be used in standard office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no accessories or kits needed. Otherwise, all of the panels will need to be purchased with either the direct mounting kit or suspension kit, both of which are sold separately.
Ecostrad Accent IR panels are suitable for use in bathrooms provided they are installed in zones 2 or 3 as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. If they are to be installed in a bathroom, they must always be hardwired into a fused spur by a professional electrician. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines regarding the installation and suitability of their products for use in bathrooms.
If you are planning to install multiple heaters, please consult an electrician beforehand to avoid overloading the ring main of your property. They will be able to provide further advice on your project and hardwire your heaters to the mains.
The Ecostrad Opus IR Infrared Ceiling Panel has a 5 Year Warranty on the heater body and a separate 1 Year Warranty on the electronic receiver.

What You Will Need
Ecostrad Opus IR Infrared Ceiling Panels are a sophisticated way of having your heating fade into the background with their unobtrusive overhead fitting. This type of installation keeps any hot surfaces well out of reach whilst also ensuring your heating system offers the broadest spread of warmth possible over your space. Designed with a premium frameless housing and neutral white finish, the Opus IR will blend into virtually any interior, allowing the rest of your room features to take centre stage.
Opus infrared panels warm spaces using radiant heat, which is absorbed by the brickwork of your property to bring rooms up to comfort temperature. It doesn’t rely on the surrounding air to transfer warmth so no heat is lost through draughts. This means your rooms stay warmer for longer, using less energy in the process. On the inside of the panel is a carbon crystal film element that efficiently emits warmth into the room, and to prevent heat loss, the Opus also contains a layer of polyurethane insulation at the rear. The elements are covered in a special fire-resistant, patented coating which protects the appliance and also increases heat conduction.
The remote control supplied with each Opus IR panel acts as both the room thermostat and the programmer, allowing you to set a custom weekly schedule using its digital interface. You can set an interval Monday to Friday to create start and finish times for your heating during the working week, and set intervals for Saturday and Sunday separately. It also provides access to a comfort override option, as well as open window detection and adaptive start functions. Each remote can be used with any number of Opus IR panels so you can have multiple heaters follow the same routine. If you would prefer to use the heater with an external controller, you can simply use the bypass switch on the rear of the panel which gives you the option of changing your control preference further down the line.
These panels can be installed in multiple ways. They can be purchased with a direct mounting kit for a fitting that hugs the ceiling or purchased with a suspension kit so that they can hang down at the height of your choosing. The 270w panel can also be used in office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no additional kits required.
Infrared ceiling panels use a lower wattage to keep spaces warm compared to wall mounted products because their fitting location allows them to retain heat for longer. As heat naturally rises to the top of the room, Opus IR infrared ceiling panels can re-absorb some of this warmth, staying hotter whilst also using less power. This means less energy usage, lower running costs and even more savings in your pocket.
Whatever type of interior you’re looking to heat, these infrared panels offer a fitting to match. Choose from three different installation types to find the option that best suits your project:Direct mounting Purchase the Opus IR panel with its direct mounting kit for a fitting that hugs the ceiling. Great for rooms with a standard ceiling height. Ceiling suspension Choose the suspension kit for high-ceilinged rooms, bringing the panels down toward the space you need to heat. This kit comes with cables that can be adjusted to the length required so you can find the ideal installation height. Installed in ceiling grids The 270w Opus IR infrared panel is suitable for use in office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no installation kits needed.
Each Opus IR infrared heating panel comes with a digital remote so you can program your heating to your heart’s content. Using its easy-read screen, you can set a heating interval for Monday to Friday to reflect your work routine, and program intervals for Saturday and Sunday individually. When your heaters aren’t scheduled to warm your rooms, they simply switch off to save energy, so you’ll always know exactly when they’ll be drawing power. At times when you need extra heat, there’s no need to reprogram your panels because the IR’s comfort override feature gives you a boost of warmth without affecting your settings. It’s convenient, easy to control heating that you can adjust from the comfort of your chair.
The remote control also contains the room thermostat which monitors temperatures with a ±0.5 °C level of accuracy. Each remote can control an unlimited number of Opus IR infrared wall panels so if you have a number of heaters in one space, they can all follow the same routine. If you want to create separate heating zones throughout your property, you can do that too – the Opus IR’s remote-control system gives you infinite scope to configure your heaters how you like.
Need to use your Opus IR panel with an existing controller? No problem – each panel has a bypass switch on the rear to suspend connection with the remote. You can then wire it into the external controller of your choice so you can change or upgrade your heating as time goes by.
