Towel Rail AccessoriesAs energy prices continue to rise, additional accessories for your heating appliances can help you monitor your electricity use more closely and reduce the amount you use. Accessories for your towel rail can not only assist in lowering your energy bills but also add to the overall user experience by offering superior control options. These include controls to adjust the surface area temperature of your towel rail, so that it uses less power in warmer months, and timer functions to limit how long your rail is in use. Optimising your bathroom’s heating has never been easier!
Not all towel rails come with in-built controls so in some instances you may want to install additional management options for improved ease-of-use. We offer a separate towel rail controller which allows users to adjust the surface temperature of their heater incrementally and includes a 2-hour timer for energy saving purposes.
Products are available that include an integrated thermostat to allow you to adjust the temperature of the towel rail without having to purchase a separate accessory. For the utmost control over your bathroom heater, you should always look for a product that comes with a remote programmer. This will allow you to create a bespoke heating schedule around your weekly routine to provide you with convenient bathroom heating exactly when you need it.
Creating a heating schedule for your bathroom can be extremely useful for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it’s a fantastic way to curb your energy use by ensuring that your towel rail only comes on at times dictated by you. No more forgetting to turn off your towel rail and finding it’s been on at full power all day – a programmed towel rail gets your bathroom toasty and warm when you need it and will turn itself off when it’s no longer needed.
Secondly, the level of convenience provided by programmers is unparalleled and once you’ve used one, it’s hard to go back to using a more basic heating system. Suffering with a cold bathroom first thing in the morning is a common complaint with basic towel rails because they take time to get to temperature from cold. With a programmer, you can set your towel rail to warm up an hour beforehand to get your bathroom at a cosy temperature so it’s nice and toasty as you get ready for the day. Once you’ve created a schedule for your whole week, you can essentially leave your heating up to the programmer and enjoy convenient heating every day.
While it is possible, we unfortunately do not offer separate towel rail programmers at this time. If you’re interested in purchasing a towel rail that comes with a programmer, take a look at our Ecostrad Magnum, Haverland XTAL, Haverland TE700i or Ecostrad TR700i products.
Generally speaking, creating a schedule for a towel rail is very straightforward, but this largely depends on the individual. For some people, programming an electronic appliance comes naturally and they may only need minimal prompting at certain points in the process. Others may struggle a little if they’re not as familiar with more complicated electrical goods. We strive to make all our products as easy to use as possible, which is why we provide quick startup guides to help you get started straightaway. If you still struggle to make sense of your programmer’s functions, our friendly After Sales team are only a phone call away and can guide you through the rest of the process.
All towel rails and accessories for bathroom installation must be hardwired by a qualified electrician, following any guidelines provided by the manufacturer in the product manual. Towel rails that come with remote controllers are an exception; although the towel rail must be installed by a qualified electrician, you can wall mount the controller yourself in a location of your choosing, provided it is outside the bathroom.
