This infrared panel is designed for ceiling mounted fitting; however, it can also be used as a wall mounted solution if desired. Please note that due to its lower wattage, its ‘heats up to’ area will be reduced when used as a wall heater.
The 270w panel can be used in standard office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no accessories or kits needed. In all other instances, it will need to be purchased with either the direct mounting kit or suspension kit, both of which are sold separately.
The signal range between the wireless temperature sensor and the panel receiver is 5m – if they are outside of this range, they may experience difficulty pairing.
Ecostrad Opus iQ panels are suitable for use in bathrooms provided they are installed in zones 2 or 3 as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. If they are to be installed in a bathroom, they must always be hardwired into a fused spur by a professional electrician. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines regarding the installation and suitability of their products for use in bathrooms.
If you are planning to install multiple heaters, please consult an electrician beforehand to avoid overloading the ring main of your property. They will be able to provide further advice on your project and hardwire your heaters to the mains.
Ecostrad Opus iQ WiFi Controlled Infrared Ceiling Panels offer gentle, energy-efficient heat from an unobtrusive source. The 320w panel is able to heat up to 6m² and can be used in both domestic and commercial properties to provide lasting warmth throughout the day.
Opus infrared panels warm spaces using radiant heat, which is absorbed by the brickwork of your property to bring rooms up to comfort temperature. It doesn’t rely on the surrounding air to transfer warmth so no heat is lost through draughts. This means your rooms stay warmer for longer, using less energy in the process. On the inside of the panel is a carbon crystal film element that efficiently emits warmth into the room, and to prevent heat loss, the Opus also contains a layer of polyurethane insulation at the rear. The elements are covered in a special fire-resistant, patented coating which protects the appliance and also increases heat conduction.
Every Opus iQ infrared panel is ready for WiFi control the moment it’s plugged in. Just download the Smart Life app to your phone and pair it to each of the heaters in your system – it’s that simple. No gateway accessories are needed because the panels have a receiver that communicates directly with your home router. Once they’re connected, the Smart Life app allows you to create multiple in-depth heating schedules for your infrared panels that you can micro-manage down to each individual minute. The Smart Life app also unlocks Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, so if you have a smart speaker, you won’t even need to lift a finger to adjust your heating.
Opus iQ infrared panels come with a wireless sensor that communicates temperature readings to the Smart Life app. The sensors can be paired to any number of Opus iQ panels and give you the option of grouping heaters together to follow the same schedule. The sensor can be wall mounted or free standing and comes with its own desk stand for convenient placement. If you would prefer to use the heater with an external controller, you can simply use the bypass switch on the rear of the panel which gives you the option of changing your control preference further down the line.
This panel can be installed in two different ways. It can be purchased with a direct mounting kit for a fitting that hugs the ceiling or purchased with a suspension kit so that it can hang down at the height of your choosing.
