The Herschel California is not suitable for DIY installation and must be installed by a professional electrician. The Herschel California can be wall mounted using the brackets provided or used freestanding when purchased with a compatible stand. Do not use freestanding patio heaters outside during wet weather – always bring them inside if it begins to rain.
Be sure to mount the California in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines: 300mm from the wall, ceiling, or any other structure, no lower than 1.8m from the floor, and at an angle between 0° - 45° to avoid activating the safety tilt switch. Do not mount the California facing down from the ceiling.

Although the heated area reduces as the California is brought closer to the floor, the heat given off intensifies – so please bear this in mind when positioning your infrared heaters. See the Herschel California manual for more information.
The Herschel California has an IP65 rating, protecting it from low-pressure jets of water and the ingress of dust. This IP rating provides adequate protection from the elements but for particularly exposed locations prone to heavy rain and winds, a quartz heater may be a more suitable heating solution.
The Herschel California is a powerful, 2000w mediumwave infrared heater that’s specifically designed for commercial spaces that need an attractive, user-friendly heating solution. Finished in black, the California adds a dramatic accent to outdoor seating and dining areas, as well as indoor spaces where the heater will be in public view.
The California offers convenient heater control using either the push-button on the side of the heater or the included remote control. Select half or full power depending on your needs and set a 1-9 hour timer with ease, allowing you to adjust the California’s output and run your heating for a restricted period with a simple point and press. Multiple heaters can also be adjusted using the same remote and an LED indicator located on the side of each heater will display its current setting for quick reference at a glance.
Completely silent when in operation, the California’s low-glare carbon heating element emits a pleasant, rosy glow that provides over 10,000 hours of heat – the ideal choice for businesses that require on-demand heating, whenever the need arises.
Designed for use in sheltered outdoor and unenclosed indoor spaces, the California can be wall mounted using the brackets provided or made freestanding when used with a compatible stand. Whichever you prefer, the Herschel California offers a responsive and uniquely styled heating solution suitable for a range of applications.
