These infrared panels are designed for ceiling mounted fitting; however, they can also be used as a wall mounted solution if desired. Please note that due to their lower wattages, their ‘heats up to’ areas will be reduced when used as a wall heater.
The 270w panel can be used in standard office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no accessories or kits needed. Otherwise, all of the panels will need to be purchased with either the direct mounting kit or suspension kit, both of which are sold separately.
The signal range between the wireless temperature sensor and the panel receiver is 5m – if they are outside of this range, they may experience difficulty pairing.
Ecostrad Opus iQ panels are suitable for use in bathrooms provided they are installed in zones 2 or 3 as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. If they are to be installed in a bathroom, they must always be hardwired into a fused spur by a professional electrician. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines regarding the installation and suitability of their products for use in bathrooms.
If you are planning to install multiple heaters, please consult an electrician beforehand to avoid overloading the ring main of your property. They will be able to provide further advice on your project and hardwire your heaters to the mains.

What You Will Need
Enjoy comfortably heated rooms from an unassuming source with the Ecostrad Opus iQ WiFi Controlled Infrared Ceiling Panel. These discreet infrared heaters are designed for top-down heating so all of the warmth they emit goes to the end user first. This not only maximises their head spread but also ensures that your heating system is always kept out of reach – great for commercial properties and homes with young children.
Opus infrared panels warm spaces using radiant heat, which is absorbed by the brickwork of your property to bring rooms up to comfort temperature. It doesn’t rely on the surrounding air to transfer warmth so no heat is lost through draughts. This means your rooms stay warmer for longer, using less energy in the process. On the inside of the panel is a carbon crystal film element that efficiently emits warmth into the room, and to prevent heat loss, the Opus also contains a layer of polyurethane insulation at the rear. The elements are covered in a special fire-resistant, patented coating which protects the appliance and also increases heat conduction.
Every Opus iQ infrared panel is ready for WiFi control the moment it’s plugged in. Just download the Smart Life app to your phone and pair it to each of the heaters in your system – it’s that simple. No gateway accessories are needed because the panels have a receiver that communicates directly with your home router. Once they’re connected, the Smart Life app allows you to create in-depth heating schedules for your infrared panels that you can micro-manage down to each individual minute. The Smart Life app also unlocks Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, so if you have a smart speaker, you won’t even need to lift a finger to adjust your heating.
Opus iQ infrared panels come with a wireless sensor that communicates temperature readings to the Smart Life app. The sensors can be paired to any number of Opus iQ panels and give you the option of grouping heaters together to follow the same schedule. The sensor can be wall mounted or free standing and comes with its own desk stand for convenient placement. If you would prefer to use the heater with an external controller, you can simply use the bypass switch on the rear of the panel which gives you the option of changing your control preference further down the line.
These panels can be installed in multiple ways. They can be purchased with a direct mounting kit for a fitting that hugs the ceiling or purchased with a suspension kit so that they can hang down at the height of your choosing. The 270w panel can also be used in office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no additional kits required.

Infrared ceiling panels use a lower wattage to keep spaces warm compared to wall mounted products because their fitting location allows them to retain heat for longer. As heat naturally rises to the top of the room, Opus iQ infrared ceiling panels can re-absorb some of this warmth, staying hotter whilst also using less power. This means less energy usage, lower running costs and even more savings in your pocket.

Whatever type of interior you’re looking to heat, these infrared panels offer a fitting to match. Choose from three different installation types to find the option that best suits your project:
Direct mounting Purchase the OpusiQ panel with its direct mounting kit for a fitting that hugs the ceiling. Great for rooms with a standard ceiling height. Ceiling suspension Choose the suspension kit for high-ceilinged rooms, bringing the panels down toward the space you need to heat. This kit comes with cables that can be adjusted to the length required so you can find the ideal installation height. Installed in ceiling grids The 270w Opus iQ infrared panel is suitable for use in office ceiling grids and simply slots into place with no installation kits needed.
Each Opus iQ infrared heating panel is WiFi control compatible so you can adjust your heaters anywhere at any time. It doesn’t matter how far you are from home, as long as you have an internet connection, you can keep in touch with your heating via the Smart Life app, which allows in-depth programming down to each individual minute. You can create any number of heating intervals using the app to match your daily and weekly routine to the letter, and also group heaters together so that they follow the same schedule. Maybe you prefer to have a separate routine for upstairs and downstairs, or perhaps you like to have different heating schedules for the rooms you use less often? Whatever your preference, the Smart Life app is there to help you create the perfect ambience through its intuitive, user-friendly interface.

With its integrated Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, you can adjust your Opus iQ infrared panel with just a few simple commands. Change temperatures and switch your heaters on and off in seconds, all without having to lift a finger – it’s a zero-hassle solution that integrates seamlessly into existing smart home systems. Using the Smart Life app, you can also set custom names for each of your heaters so you can easily refer to them in a way that reflects their use. A personalised system that puts you in total control.

Need to use your Opus iQ panel with an existing controller? No problem – each panel has a bypass switch on the rear to suspend connection with the wireless temperature sensor. You can then wire it into the external controller of your choice so you can change or upgrade your heating as time goes by.
