Ecostrad Apex patio heaters are compatible with DIY installation and come with a UK moulded plug. If the patio heater is to be installed outside, it must be hardwired safely by a professional electrician.
This heater can be wall or ceiling mounted to achieve the best fitting for your space. It should always be installed as per the manufacturer’s guidelines with all clearance distances adhered to: at least 1.8m from the ground and at least 50cm away from any adjacent walls and surfaces. When wall mounting, always ensure that the unit is horizontally level with the heater’s control panel aligned to the left-hand side. The carbon filament bulb is fragile so please take care when unpacking and installing the heater. In all instances, the heater must be installed in a location where it cannot be accidentally touched as its surface temperature can reach up to 95 °C.
We advise installing the Apex where it will be away from any strong sources of air movement, such as doors and roller shutters. This is because wind chill can offset the sensation of mediumwave infrared on your skin.
Ecostrad Apex Infrared Patio Heaters are rated IP65 which means they are completely dust-tight and protected against low pressure jets of water so you can install them outside with confidence.

Every home patio can enjoy the comfort of outdoor heating with the Ecostrad Apex. This affordable infrared patio heater is elegantly designed and brilliantly effective at what it does – using a carbon-fibre lamp, it heats in an instant so you can enjoy your garden whenever you please. Its carbon filament lamp also has additional benefits: it produces less light compared to traditional tungsten heaters and offers a more mellow form of warmth that’s comfortable over longer periods.
Our remote-control version of the Apex is great for outdoor applications as its simple on/off control lets you power the heater without having to leave your seat: just point, press and enjoy instant warmth. This model is not designed to be paired with any other external control systems; if you do want to fit your own controller to the heater, we recommend the non-remote version of the Apex which is suitable for this use. Both versions of the Apex also have a switch on the side which allows them to be switched on and off manually.
The Apex has a maximum heated area of 10m² outdoors and 15m² indoors and can be either wall or ceiling mounted. Each unit comes with a UK moulded plug for DIY fitting in an appropriate IP rated socket or, if you require the Apex hardwiring to the mains, it can also be installed quickly and easily by a professional electrician.
