All our electric heating panels can be easily fitted with basic DIY knowledge. They simply screw to the wall and plug into a normal 13amp socket. The cable has a 3m length but please note that Herschel Inspire panels are not supplied with a plug - you will need to purchase this separately and attach it to the cable if you want your heater to have a plug-in fitting. A template is provided to show you where to put the screws. If you want to mount the panels on the ceiling, they should be screwed to the ceiling joists or suspended in a grid with suitable fixings.
If you prefer a discreet fitting with no wires showing you may want to have the panels professionally installed by a registered electrician.
Herschel Inspire panels have an IP rating of IP54 so are suitable for use in bathrooms provided they are hardwired by a professional electrician. You must not use plug-in electric heaters in bathrooms or wetrooms. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines about the bathroom suitability of any product.
To ensure you get the most from your panel heaters we strongly recommend that you purchase a timer or thermostat for every panel. With thermostat control, the heater will automatically switch on or off to maintain the desired temperature. Thermostat control also allows you to set a different temperature for every room and programme when you want the radiators to come on and off. This small investment will ensure that you get maximum efficiency from your panels and minimum wasted energy.
Care must always be taken when connecting multiple radiators or heaters to avoid overloading the ring main of your property. If you are unsure, contact a qualified electrician for advice. For a professional installation, cables can be shortened and the heater connected to the mains supply by a fused spur. This work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Herschel Inspire Glass panels are state-of-the-art infrared heaters which combine sophisticated styling with energy-efficient radiant heat, providing a truly luxurious home heating solution. This white 750w panel is perfect for larger rooms such as lounges, home gyms and open-plan offices.
The Inspire collection is Herschel’s range of premium infrared panels, crafted to an exceptional degree of quality and designed to last for decades. The Inspire Glass range includes four sizes of elegant glass panel, available in black or white, ideal for adding a practical and stylish finishing touch to a domestic or commercial space. The panels are manufactured from ESG safety glass to guarantee a safe, impact-resistant fitting in any environment.
Herschel Inspire Glass panels are designed for wall mounting, providing attractive focal points which fit easily into any interior design scheme. Boasting an ultra-slimline depth of just 25mm, these glossy panels fit almost flush with the wall and make minimal intrusion into the room. The panels do reach temperatures of 85 – 95 °C, so please be sure to hang the panels only in locations where they will not pose a risk to children or vulnerable adults.
Using the brackets provided, Inspire panels can be installed DIY when you attach a plug to the end of the cable. If you want your panels to have a wire-free finish or be installed in a bathroom, you will need to obtain the services of a professional electrician.
Our range of Herschel Inspire Glass Infrared Panels is available in black or white.
Herschel Inspire panels do not come with in-built controls. This is to protect the lifespan of the products, which will usually extend for decades, well beyond the 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. Rugged and durable, with no moving parts, your Herschel Inspire panels should outlive any digital components. It’s for this reason that we sell thermostats, timers and programmers separately. Your controllers wire in separately, and you can replace them as many times as you want without damaging the panels. This also gives you the freedom to choose exactly how you want to control your panels – collectively or individually, automatically or manually, remotely or directly.
We always recommend installing your panels with a programmable thermostat. Thermostats monitor and maintain temperatures, whilst programmers allow you to set each panel to a heating schedule with different temperatures at different times of the day. This will drastically reduce your energy usage, and ensures your rooms are comfortable whenever you need them. Infrared panels with thermostatic controls can be up to 60% more efficient than traditional convection heating systems.
When purchased with the iQ WiFi Hub, Herschel infrared panels can be remotely controlled from a compatible smart device, enabling you to alter your heating on the bus, on the train, or anywhere providing you have an internet connection. The iQ Hub connects directly to your home router and receives instructions from a compatible smart device via WiFi.
Infrared panels give off most of their heat as far infrared radiation. This is a gentle, natural form of heat which travels at a similar wavelength to the heat given off by our bodies. Far infrared feels gentle but is easily absorbed by our bodies, making it one of the most efficient ways to heat homes and offices. Unlike outdoor infrared products which give off visible light and a more intense form of infrared heat, far infrared remains comfortable for hours on end – a luxurious heating solution that’s ideal for all your main living spaces. Other uses for far infrared include spas, yoga studios and incubators for babies.
Infrared heating is growing in popularity all the time as home and business owners recognise the unique benefits and unparalleled energy efficiency offered by these versatile panels. Radiant heat warms people, objects and surfaces directly, minimising the heat loss through draughts and the circulation of air. Radiant heat allows you to zone your heating, and it can also reduce damp and prevent the circulation of dust – the ideal heating solution for allergy sufferers. The panels are durable, require no maintenance and are the natural choice to pair with solar panels for 100% carbon free heating.
