Electric Radiators Direct

Welcome to Electric Radiators Direct, suppliers of energy efficient electric radiators and towel rails. We champion electric heating as the heating solution of the future because it is carbon free, ideal for use with sustainable energy and perfectly adapted to take advantage of SMART electronic technology. Once upon a time, electric heating was limited to rudimentary storage heaters designed to save money by heating up overnight using cheap rate electricity and releasing heat during the day. Inefficient, bulky, and difficult to control, storage heaters are rarely popular in homes today. However, not all homeowners realise that electric heating has evolved in recent decades, and now electric radiators offer an easy-install, maintenance free heating option with running costs to rival gas central heating.

Electric radiators are a fantastic forward-looking heating solution because they run equally well whether your electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels or by harnessing sustainable resources. As fossil fuels become scarcer and renewable energy increasingly dominates the energy sector, electric radiators provide an adaptable heating option than keeps up with the changing times.

The company was founded in 2013 to meet the rising demand for energy efficient electric radiators at affordable prices. Since then we have been committed to making comfortable heating with a low carbon footprint an affordable option for all households and businesses, whatever the budget.

When you shop at Electric Radiators Direct you will find a comprehensive range of products with something for every property, design scheme and budget. Our website is packed full of useful information, and, if you’re still unsure, our friendly team of heating advisors are only a phone call away. At Electric Radiators Direct we’re proud to offer exceptional customer service with an award-winning team here to help you before, during and after your purchase. 1. What is Fuzzy Logic?

    1
    1. Rointe’s Fuzzy Logic system enables their products to sustain a set temperature without losing energy in the restart process. With conventional heating, when a temperature is set, heaters switch on and off to maintain it. They switch off if they’ve reached the temperature, and then restart if they need to add a bit more heat. This process creates peaks and troughs of heat where the radiator is switching off and rapidly losing heat, and then switching on and rapidly gaining it again. This process, as well as creating an uneven distribution of heat, is ultimately inefficient and means that your radiator will have to work extra hard simply to sustain a set temperature.

With Rointe’s Fuzzy Logic system, optimum temperatures are modulated to maintain a balanced and even distribution of heat. The radiator won’t switch itself off and on, but will continue on 38% nominal power to achieve balanced temperatures without having to heat at its maximum.

This ensures that the heater doesn’t waste energy if it senses it needs to add a few more degrees of heat to reach its set target. Removing this inconsistency from the Rointe design improves the efficiency of the radiator and contributes to a smooth and balanced distribution of heat within your rooms.

  2. What size Rointe heater do I need?

    1
    1. The size of electric radiator you will need depends on several variables within your household. The size of the room, the age of the property, the quality of the insulation, and the type of property you’re intending to heat.

You can use our radiator wattage calculator to work out the total wattage required to heat your space effectively. You can then choose a combination of radiators which adds up to the total wattage needed, or a single radiator that achieves this figure on its own.

If you have a high-ceilinged property, we recommend speaking with one of our expert sales advisors before purchasing. The team will be happy to provide a free quote based on the dimensions of your room and are on hand to offer any further assistance you might require.

  3. What is the D series?

    1
    1. The D Series is Rointe’s premium electric heating solution that provides outstanding performance with luxurious aesthetics. The D Series is constructed from high purity aluminium and comes in a modern white or striking graphite finish that’s sure to integrate into any household aesthetic. The eye-catching vents at the top of the D Series aid air circulation and ensure that the air is heated quickly and efficiently as it passes through. The D Series boasts an impressive array of programmable features and comes with integrated WiFi that enables you to download the Rointe Connect App and take control of your home heating wherever you can connect to WiFi.

  4. How do I install my D series?

    1
    1. Installing your D Series requires a modicum of DIY knowledge and is a quick and easy task. The D Series comes with a standard 3-pin plug and can be plugged straight into a mains socket. For wall mounting, all that’s needed is for you to drill a few small holes and to screw the bracket that comes with the D Series into the wall. From there, all you need to do is hang your Rointe D Series like you would a TV. For a more professional fit, your D Series can be hardwired into the wall by a qualified electrician.

  5. How does the D series heat?

    1
    1. The Rointe D Series uses a combination of convection and radiation to create heat. Air that circulates around a room is drawn into the D Series’ stylish flutes at the top of the heater. These flutes channel the air past the hot elements inside the D Series and then back out into the room. This warm air then circulates around the room in a continuous cycle to establish a stable temperature.

The D Series also radiates a certain amount of heat from its warm body when it’s in use. This radiated heat is absorbed by objects and people in its path and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the D Series.

  6. How do I control my D series?

    1
    1. The Rointe D Series can be controlled by its inbuilt touch panel. The panel contains visual menus and is designed to be as accessible as possible. From here, you can alter the D Series’ programming, choosing from one of the four pre-sets, or amending your own 24/7 programme. The D Series also comes with integrated WiFi that enables you to download the Rointe Connect App and control your heating on the go wherever you can connect to WiFi. Unlike other electric heaters, the Rointe doesn’t require you to purchase any additional controls to enable WiFi operation – simply download the app, connect to a WiFi signal, and you’re good to go.

  7. Are vertical radiators as efficient as normal radiators?

    1
    1. Vertical radiators function in exactly the same way as ‘regular’ radiators do and there is no compromise on efficiency. Vertical radiators heat quickly, use the same components, and function in precisely the same way as horizontal electric radiators. Choosing a vertical electric radiator often falls down to either an aesthetic choice or having limited space – either way, the effectiveness of the radiator is not influenced by its orientation.

  8. How do you install the Veesmart?

    1
    1. The Ecostrad VeeSmart is not suitable for DIY installation and must be installed by a qualified electrician. The VeeSmart functions as an independent unit and doesn’t need to be integrated into existing systems – which should make the installation simple. The VeeSmart is rated IPX5 and can be installed in a suitable zone 3 bathroom location by a certified electrician. Please note that VeeSmart radiators should be installed at least 1m away from any sources of water in order to prevent corrosion to the heater's finish.

When installing a VeeSmart radiator, it's important to take note of its weight as many are heavy and will require two people for safe manual handling of the product.

  9. Can I control the VeeSmart via WiFi?

    1
    1. The VeeSmart uses Bluetooth technology as its interface and cannot be controlled using WiFi. Bluetooth requires you to be in close proximity to your device for it to work so you cannot make instant changes to your heating schedule unless you are close enough to your VeeSmart for the Bluetooth to connect. You can, however, make changes on your app that will take effect whenever you are near your radiator – these alterations can be made throughout the day and when you return home, will automatically be transferred to your VeeSmart.

  10. Are black electric radiators less efficient?

    1
    1. Our range of black electric radiators are manufactured with high-quality components and constructed to a premium standard. The colour of your electric radiator will make no appreciable difference to its performance. When it comes to heating efficiency, the material used to construct the radiator body is much more significant than the colour of its finish. In our radiator ranges, colour really is only skin deep: beneath their powder coating, you will find the same aluminium or steel frame. For specific information about the efficiency of a product, refer to the relevant product page.
